Barry D. Performs for 40th Dove Awards
Nashville, TN - 4/28/09 - Barry D. performed the ultimate showcase by
providing music for the entire 2 hour Pre Show of the Doves. The Dove
Awards Pre-Show was held at the Grand Ole' Opry House in Nashville on
April 23, 2009 from 4:30 to 6:30pm CST and was followed by the Live
Telecast which aired on the Gospel Music Channel. The pre-show started
with a hilarious monologue from Comedian/Recording Artist John Gray
,the host, and segued into a performance with John Gray and Barry D.
doing a rendition of "Jesus is Coming Soon". "Jesus is Coming Soon"
was the first song ever to win a Dove for Song of the Year. At the pre
-show, awards were given out in 37 categories. Pre-Show producer,
Darren Garret, commented that Barry's Music gave the show a nice pace
and ultimately caused the pre show to end ahead of schedule.

D's impact was definitely felt when Casting Crown's Mark Hall, who took
home three Doves that night, turned and said, "and we thank the Piano
Player". Barry D's, Born to Play CD was also a Nominee that night for
Instrumental Album of the Year.
In addition to his busy
schedule with the Dove's Pre-Show, Barry got a chance to sit down and
share his testimony with the media. Barry shared stories of his
childhood, ministry experiences and his latest project with Campus
Crusades for Christ, American Bible Society, The Bridge Live.net, Cross
Rhythms, Youth Net Work TV and United by One.
